As an award-winning philanthropist & entrepreneur, I’m no stranger to the spotlight! My passion to help women develop and amplify their unique voice and create digital content that allows them to tell their stories in the most authentic and captivating ways, is deeply rooted in my 20+ years unique experience as an on-air talent, host, actor, theatre performer, author and speaker, coupled with my extensive work as a journalist with Who’s Who Publication. As a former marketing & advertising executive for Fortune 500 companies like Limited Brands, Victoria’s Secret and GSW Ad Agency, I’ve helped lead my team to generating millions in revenue, while elevating the brand presence of our clients.  

With a natural ability to lead my clients in going from overwhelmed and uncertain about being the face of their brand and business, to being the bold, confident woman who owns the camera and sharing their BIG message with ease, I’ve become a sought-after leader in my community to help women in business elevate their influence, impact and profits.

However, despite all of my education, talent, experience and success helping my clients build their own powerful personal brands, I was left trying to pick up the pieces of what felt like a shattered career in the corporate world.

The problem was that I didn’t spend time cultivating my own personal brand.  I was too secure in my own career as an advertising executive and consultant, that I thought my talents and experience would translate in any environment if needed, without little help on my part.  After all, I’d made a name for myself as the only African-American female executive in my division and I thought - surely that bears some weight, right?

Well that wasn’t enough!

You see, I'd been hiding behind my success and consultancy business so much that ‘I’ didn't take time to tap into my own powerful set of stories, identify my personal brand story sweet spot and messaging, or build my own personal brand around it, and let me tell you, that was a huge mistake because I wasn’t prepared for the shift that was soon to come.

After endless, daunting months of interviewing for job after job with no real leads, I ended up having to take a job at McDonald’s!  Yep, you read that right! Good olè Mickey Dee’s!

It honestly all happened at once!  The housing crash of 2007-2008 was jus too much for my family and I to bear, despite having the best-laid plans, and one thing ultimately led to another.  Finally, I made decision to take back my power and get back to my first love – storytelling and acting! 

Becoming a full-time actor in Hollywood forced me to take a long hard look at myself as a brand. The industry is full of competition and I often found myself on audition after audition with the same circle of women. Some of us won, while some of us lost!

One day, I had a light bulb moment and asked myself – “What do you want to be known for?’

I knew that I didn’t want to just be seen as another pretty face - an actress who moved to Hollywood with pipe dreams of making it big on the screen.  What I did next changed everything for me, and I made a decision how I wanted to be seen, treated and remembered and I made the investment in a team of coaches to help get me there.

While I absolutely love everything about acting and producing television programming and film, I knew that I wanted to make an even bigger impact and help other women to unleash the power in their story and cultivate their own iconic personal brand.  So, I took my 20+ years experience as a performer, speaker and on-air talent, and coupled that with my long history as a career marketing & advertising executive and consultant. That was the beginning of me embracing the shift and experiencing true fulfillment, transformation and long-lasting success.
