Who is Ebony L?
Ebony L. is a woman of many talents, committed to spending her life being a great inspiration and light to everyone she comes in contact with.
Ever since Ebony can remember, she has always loved the Lord. Raised in church, she’s considered a pew-baby, baptized in Jesus name, and filled with the Holy Ghost at the tender age of thirteen. Following in the musical footsteps of her father, she began to sing, and of course, direct the choir in her local assembly. Additionally, her musical ears led her to join in community and district-state choirs, while her anointed voice paved the way for her to lead Praise and Worship Teams.
Ebony’s giftedness and her love of children made her a natural when it came to teaching students of Sunday school, Children’s Church along with Vacation Bible School; in addition, she has served as a panelist for youth and young adult programs. Ebony’s ability to minister to women at a young age has given her favor with her peers and God as she teaches women in settings of group seminars and workshops. Through the leading of the Holy Ghost, Ebony has counseled many young people over the years. Knowing that the wisdom has come from God, she takes no credit for herself, and she will always tell you “To God Be the Glory!”
Ebony L., is much more than a teacher however; she’s also a minister, prayer warrior as well as a passionate Altar Worker at church, one of the first contacts people have after taking the step toward a closer relationship with Christ during an “altar call” – a call to those seeking a new or renewed spiritual commitment. “It is my heart’s desire to see souls born into the kingdom. God has given me a true love for salvation of souls, and to see all of His people blessed,” says Ebony.
Ebony, wife to Minister Paul Long- Bowers of almost 10 years, firmly believes in the scripture “Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.” Proverbs 14:1. Together, Paul & Ebony have worked faithfully in the Marriage Ministry, Young People’s ministry, as well as serving on the “Saving Our Children” ministry team; a group of people committed to saving young people through a spiritual yet practical foundation. The team’s core model teaches the effectiveness of reaching out to those who’ve decided to leave the church for one reason or another.
So again, WHO is Ebony L? She is many things to many people, but one thing’s for certain – Ebony is a phenomenal young woman who truly loves the Lord, and has dedicated her life to his service. This is just one of many reasons why Ebony is November’s featured ELLEvator™; she embodies the characteristics that ELLEvate NOW!™ was built on – inspirational, encouraging, and empowering; leading others to live their best life NOW! EN: What are your interests?
Ebony: I enjoy working with young people of all ages, and helping women gain confidence self-confidence.
EN: I can certainly attest to that as I’ve found her blog not only informative, but very uplifting!
EN: Can you please tell us a bit about your blog? Why did you start blogging?
Ebony: I began blogging because I wanted to help people realize that they could live a life of a freedom. I just wanted to help others in many ways. Natural Hair was just one piece of it because my friends would always tell me how much I helped them along their journey to having healthy natural hair, so they suggested that I branch out to share my knowledge with others on a broader scale. I considered their advice, and with the support of my husband and friends, I started my blog – Naturally Free To Be Me.
EN: Before wrapping up, is there anything inspirational or motivational that you’d like to share with us?
Ebony: “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, and kindness in your smile.” ~ Mother Theresa
